Responsibilities/Duties- what you will be doingThe Training
Specialist is responsible for assisting with needs assessment,
discovery, design, development, and implementation of training and
development programs for Member Services and Sales staff and
management. The primary focus of this position is to support the
training team in ensuring staff have the necessary process, policy,
product, technical and systems knowledge and skills to perform
their job functions and has the training required to provide
world-class service to our internal and external constituents. The
Training Specialist will partner with both internal and external
resources to assist in the development and delivery of training
programs that achieve departmental (local) and corporate business
goals.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Works with team to provide input into the design and
development of comprehensive training plans and/or curriculum for
training for all staff within Members Services and Sales using the
training lifecycle and instructional design model and applying
adult learning theory.
- Provide assistance with needs assessment, design, development,
implementation, and evaluation of internal staff training and
development programs both live and online, consisting of new hire
training, developmental training, leadership training, product and
benefit training, new processes, policies and systems that support
department and corporate initiatives. Helps implement the most
effective vehicle or medium for delivery of information.
- Assist with the maintenance of content accuracy of all training
materials, including management of review/maintenance process.
- Provide project management support of training and development
projects from inception to implementation.
- Use superior communication and interpersonal skills to
influence decision, negotiate issues, and build support networks
throughout the company.
- Monitor call content quality during call evaluations to
identify developmental opportunities and performance gaps that can
be addressed with training interventions and operational changes.
Keeps abreast of industry trends and competitor's educational
support tools, communication vehicles, etc.
- Consult with staff from management to individual contributor to
support the corporate and departmental business plans from a
training and development perspective.
- Review information sources used by Member Services
Representatives and ensure they are up to date, accessible and
easily utilized.
- Perform out-of-the-box thinking, collaborate with others, and

assigned.Qualifications- what you need to perform the jobWHAT YOU
NEED:
- Bachelors degree in education or related field, or equivalent
experience (3-5 years) relevant experience in a training and
development position in health care and/or managed care industry,
with member focus preferred. Healthcare operations, program design,
implementation and analysis.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, presentation,
facilitation, operational and consultation skills
- Experience in implementing skills-based training programs
utilizing documentation, facilitation, presentation and
consultative skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, analytical and
documentation skills.
- Experience with full range of instructional design skills,
including needs assessment, design, development, delivery and
evaluation of training initiatives preferred
- Knowledge of insurance products, benefits and call center
policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance policies and procedures
