Summary

The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing, Northeast. The primary purpose of this position is to lead the Supply Chain organization and initiatives within the Northeast Operations to drive efficiencies and cost optimization of Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics as well as service and on time product delivery to meet all Customer demand. The role manages key contributors and managers of Inventory and Buyer/Planning associates. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Policies, Procedures & Daily Operations

Planning

o Responsible for leading the execution of Sales, Inventory, and Operations (SIOP) Planning. Ensures optimized preparation of master schedules, production schedules, coordination of the sales and operations planning efforts, and, as needed, initiates the necessary steps to maintain conformity with schedules.

o Leads Lean material flow and inventory management initiatives in a proactive manner. Establishes methodologies to identify and maintain inventory levels that ensure customer satisfaction and security of supply while optimizing cash flow.

o Responsible for Plan for Every Part (PFEP) strategy and implementation of systems to ensure alignment of regular material analyses, the Kanban Material System, and the Production Plan.

o Ensures Planning Associates maintain Item Master Data accuracy in ERP

Purchasing/Buying

o Responsible for the Purchasing execution process for all sites. Ensures the Buyers are following Company Purchasing polices with respect to purchase order approval and maintenance. Ensures Buyers work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.

o Develops and implements systems and strategies to reduce direct and indirect material cost, reduce lead times and minimize inventory.

o Collaborates with other regions Supply Chain to identify, analyze, and resolve potential supply chain gaps or changes that may impact the company's ability to meet customer demands.

Customer Operations & Logistics

o Collaborates and integrates with Operations management and other business functional teams to ensure orders are accurate and the on-time delivery commitments are met.

o Serves as the customer champion, ensuring the systems and cross-functional organizational accountabilities are aligned to service and support the ongoing customers' requirements around timely communications and on time delivery commitments.

o Ensures compliance to shipping protocols and procedures to ensure on time shipments, condition of shipments, accuracy and correctness of paperwork in compliance with transportation regulations.

Company Culture

  • Being a brand ambassador and training team members to represent the brand appropriately.

  • Ensuring that all team members are adhering to the Company's cultural principles.

Other Duties

  • Having all team members train with Director of Security for prevention of diversion of cash and/or product.
  • Conduct random audits of cash and/or product, for each department, using audit checklist.
  • Ensures that all departments are conducting self-compliance audit monthly.
  • Review security procedures and protocols with management team, for each department.
  • Effectively manages direct reports and extended reporting structure to develop and then drive on time completion of goals and the longer term development of Associates' potentials.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications and Education

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Minimum Experience: 10-15 years of Supply Chain experience in Manufacturing environments, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or similar technical discipline. MBA preferred. APICS certification or certificate coursework in Lean Manufacturing Systems (or related) desirable.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Specialized Knowledge: Working knowledge of lean materials management and manufacturing including value stream mappings, pull systems, problem solving and 5S.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication, oral and written.
  • First-hand experience leading teams and managing/developing direct reports
  • Proven success influencing cross-functionally and managing change
  • Demonstrated applied problem-solving skills
  • Proficient to advanced computer and presentation skills

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to sit / stand throughout a workday;
  • Some travel (<20%) may be required
  • Ability and willingness to work in the following conditions:

o General office environment;

o Extended computer usage;

o Extended phone usage including teleconferences
