To assist the Mechanical & Electrical Supervisor in maintaining
and/or operating all Plumbing, Plumbing equipment, piping materials
and all related facets of the plumbing and pipefitting trade on all
Inspections Inspects buildings, facilities and equipment to
ascertain required repairs and makes recommendations to
Installations Installs plumbing and related fixtures.
Materials As required, may estimate materials needed and record
time and material expended on each work order.
Repairs Assesses plumbing issues requiring repair.
Replacements Replaces damaged plumbing fixtures such as sinks,
toilets, showers and bathtubs.
Connects plumbing fixtures to outlet and inlet pipes by fitting
gaskets, couplings, traps and valves, and soldering connections to
seal joints, when necessary.
Water and Sanitation Works on all aspects of the water
distribution and sanitary waste infrastructure.
Plumber Master may provide direction to Journeyman and
Apprentice as it pertains to the specific plumbing job. The Plumber
Journeyman may provide direction to the Apprentice as it pertains
to the specific plumbing job.
Employee must have current Plumbing masters license (Rhode
Island) and a minimum of (10) years' experience as a licensed
journeyman or masters plumber.
Must possess current technical knowledge of plumbing, heating,
fire sprinkler, natural gas irrigation and all related systems.
Perform any and all tasks required of the position without
assistance and in a timely manner.
Must also demonstrate to the reasonable satisfaction of
management, the ability to provide expert guidance, direction and
remediation to apprentice and/or journeyman plumbers.
At the University's discretion, the education and experience
prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate,
to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of
education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for
success in the position.
