Job Description:

POSITION TITLE: Interim Academic Coordinator -Teaching and Learning -INTERNAL POSTING (Temporary, up to one year)

DEPARTMENT: Lash Center for Teaching and Learning

REPORTS TO: Associate Dean of Academic Innovation and Professional Development

STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Interim Academic Coordinator of Teaching and Learning provides guidance and excellence to the Lash Center for Teaching and Learning. In addition to ensuring year-round professional development for faculty and staff, the Interim Academic Coordinator provides academic advising services to a caseload of adult learners. The Interim Academic Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to, the implementation of the Lash Center for Teaching and Learning's (LCTL) strategic vision, as well as the programmatic, administrative, and financial management of the Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide guidance to the Lash Center for Teaching and Learning (LCTL), working collaboratively with the Teaching and Learning Fellow. * Serve as lead for New Faculty Seminar, Opening Days (in collaboration with College Leadership), Adjunct Professional Development, Assessment Day (in collaboration with the Senior Special Programs Coordinator of Institutional Assessment), and March Professional Development Day, as well as other campus-wide events as required. * Develop and work with LCTL Advisory Committee to identify and address professional development needs. * Serve as a lead for strategic planning initiatives * Provide comprehensive academic support services to a manageable caseload of adult learners. * Coordinate with the Associate Director of Advising to deliver ongoing professional development for faculty and professional staff advisors, including but not limited to proactive advising training, as well as develop training materials for faculty advisors. * Participate in the development of grants to support professional development initiatives, and ensure compliance with applicable grant outcomes. * Organize the Adjunct Faculty Center, including the physical space. * Develop, recommend, and monitor the LCTL budget. * Prepare monthly and annual reports and other documents. * Serve on and chair committees/councils, as appropriate. * Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions and work collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body. * Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.

* Minimum of a Master's degree in education, counseling, sociology, or closely related field, such as student personnel.* * Minimum of five (5) years of experience and/or training that includes academic advisement, academic placement, counseling, career development, math/electronics teaching, or program/project management.* * *An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered. * Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Zoom. * Demonstrated effective facilitation skills. * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple levels of institution. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work occasional evening hours and weekends. * The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience in college teaching and use of associated technology. * Experience coordinating training and professional development program(s), preferably in a higher education environment. * Demonstrated commitment and experience in developing and implementing professional development activities. * Experience in research, experiential education, and/or High Impact Practices. * Ability to implement technological solutions in the delivery of proactive academic advising services. * Ability to speak a language in addition to English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee must meet the physical demands and work environment of the position, which may include but is not limited to the ability to move from room to room and to apply inventory tags to various equipment. POSITION STATUS: This is a temporary, up to one year, MCCC/MTA, full time, unit position with benefits. This position may be evaluated after a period of time, not to exceed one year, for future considerations.

SALARY: $64,615 - $74,077 Labor Grade - 6 - actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
