At Southcoast Health, we acknowledge that our employees are what helps make us great!# # We are searching for a Patient Care Representative II to perform a variety of office support, coordination of various patient care processes and other related duties in accordance with established Rehabilitation Services department policies and procedures under general supervision of the Team Leader or designee.# With regards to insurance authorizations, the Patient Care Representative II will obtain and enter insurance authorizations for all therapies.# They will utilize work queues to keep authorizations current.# They will work collaboratively with clinicians to obtain needed clinical documentation and communicate results of all requests in a timely fashion.# They will also manage the receipt of signed Plans of Care, enter required occurrence codes.# Must be able to obtain insurance authorization for walk in patients.# Use all available resources to maintain accurate working knowledge of managed care and other third party payer contracts and requirements for service. Hours: Per Diem Shift: Day Shift# Need flexibility to work between 6:45am-6:00pm Travel:# May require driving on average 3 or more times per week. # Education and/or Experience Requirements: Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training, secretarial school, diploma, or medical office certification.# Associates degree preferred. Duties require knowledge of medical terminology. Proficient keyboarding skills are essential. Must possess strong reasoning and critical thinking skills. Proficient in use of software applications such as e-mail, Word, Excel, EHR. Exceptional customer service skills are required. Over three years of related medical office work experience is required.
