groups, to apply.Job Summary:The Mobile Crisis Intervention
Clinician provides direct services to individuals in crisis through
assessing each persons needs for services to develop a treatment
plan that best ensures their safety and optimizes their effective
resolution of the crisis. They facilitate the persons engagement or
re-engagement in behavioral health services through referral to
community based services that are consonant with the persons needs
and preferences including as needed admission to acute treatment
services. The MCI Clinician works as part of the Boston Community
Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) that provides on site assessment
and support, as well as mobile capacity to conduct assessments at
the persons home, school, or agency in the Greater Boston area.This
position is non-exempt.Essential Functions of the Position:
Completes assessments of adults who are in crisis in a
comprehensive manner attending to their safety and needs. Develops
treatment plans with and for the person in crisis that utilize
community based health, behavioral health, and social services that
will ameliorate the presenting crisis. Works with the person in
crisis and their support network to fortify their strengths and
coping skills to engagement or reengagement in needed services.
Facilitates admission to acute inpatient care on an as needed basis
and provide brief treatment and support until requisite community
services can be accessed in order to minimize reliance on acute
inpatient services.Job Requirements: Minimum requirement is a
Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field with a
minimum of 2 years experience working in a mental health setting.
Independently Licensed Clinicians are given preference Demonstrated
assessment and treatment skills and experience in the provision of
emergency services preferred, including ability to de-escalate
crises in a manner that ensures safety for all involved and
provides for the best care and welfare of the person in crisis.
Comfort with determining the person's needs for services, referring
them to the appropriate resource(s), and facilitating the persons
engagement in these services. Experience with the evaluation
process, including presenting problems, social, family,
psychiatric, legal, and medical history preferred. Capacity to
effectively assess mental status, formulate a plan, and develop and
implement an appropriate disposition for all clients is required.
