Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Locums Opportunity - Boston, MA Availability

Start Date:

• August 4, 2026

Assignment Length:

• 3 months with option to extend

Coverage Needed:

• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• 2-3 blocked shifts weekly preferred

Preferred Schedule:

• Primarily weekends
• Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday nights preferred
• Saturday and Sunday only also considered

Shift Times:

• 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Night shifts are the highest need

Call:

• No call required

Requirements

License

• Active Massachusetts license required
• Will not accept candidates needing licensure
• IMLC not accepted due to start date requirements

Board Certification

• Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or
• Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with appropriate experience

Certifications

• PALS
• CSR
• DEA

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience

Required Skills

• Pediatric pain management experience
• Strong clinical assessment skills
• Ability to recognize when escalation is needed
• Clear and empathetic communication skills

Practice Details

Setting

• Surgical Center
• Children's Facility
• Pediatric Trauma Center

Patient Population

• Pediatrics only

Patient Volume

• 10-12 patients per shift

Department

• Anesthesia Department
• Pain Division
• Inpatient Pain Service

Clinical Responsibilities

• Management of post-surgical pain patients
• Care of patients with cancer pain and sickle cell pain
• Management of patients on PCA therapy
• Management of patients with epidurals
• Care of critically ill patients
• Sedative weaning management

Procedures

• No procedures required

Support Staff

• Attending Physician
• Charge APRN during days
• 4 APRNs Monday-Saturday
• 3 APRNs on Sundays
