small office in Warwick, and now we have eight locations spanning
Warwick, Cranston, North Kingstown, Wakefield, and Woonsocket. Our
dedicated team of ophthalmologists and optometrists is devoted to
providing top-notch, stress-free care to our patients The Lead
Ophthalmic Technician plays a key role in supporting clinical
operations and ensuring high-quality patient care. This position is
responsible for performing and overseeing a wide range of technical
duties, including patient intake and preparation, preliminary eye
exams, diagnostic testing, and support during minor procedures. In
addition to hands-on clinical responsibilities, the Lead Technician
provides guidance and mentorship to ophthalmic staff, helps
maintain equipment standards, and supports efficient clinic
workflows across locations. Description Providing leadership and
supervision to the ophthalmic technician team, including
scheduling, performance evaluations, and mentoring to ensure a
cohesive and effective team. Coordinating and prioritizing patient
care activities, ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow within
the clinic. Performing advanced ophthalmic technician duties,
including complex diagnostic tests, specialized procedures, and
patient assessments as needed. Assisting in the training and
onboarding of new ophthalmic technicians, ensuring that they are
proficient in all required skills and protocols. Monitoring the
quality of patient care, maintain adherence to standards and
protocols, and implement quality improvement initiatives. Educating
patients on eye care procedures, pre-operative and post-operative
instructions, and the proper use and care of contact lenses or
eyeglasses. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records,
documenting assessments, test results, and treatment plans in
compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of ophthalmic
equipment, coordinating with the appropriate departments for
repairs or replacements. Responsible for ordering medical supplies
and maintaining levels for inventory Performs other duties as
assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of performance
evaluation and customer service metrics Solid understanding of
reporting and budgeting procedures Proficient in MS Office and call
center equipment/software programs Outstanding communication and
interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and leadership skills
with a problem-solving ability Reliable and results-driven Positive
and patient Education and Experience: High school diploma or
equivalent; Higher degree in a relevant discipline will be
appreciated Minimum one year of ophthalmic technician experience
Has previous lead or supervisory experience Experience in customer
service is required Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and
communication skills. Physical Requirements: Sitting, Standing,

hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned
tasks Driving independently to other facilities Must possess the
physical, mental, and cognitive skills needed to complete essential
