Director will provide scientific and team leadership across global
medical affairs activities, including evidence data generation,
data analysis and interpretation, publications, medical
communication, medical training, medical information, and support
for market access and reimbursement (PMA). The role involves
working in a multifunctional, matrix organization with other
medical affairs functions (global medical capabilities, oncology
PMO, MSL teams), as well as with commercial, clinical development,
access & reimbursement, Takeda patient advocacy, and Oncology
Business Units (OBUs) medical leads and regional medical leads.This
role will be accountable for developing and executing asset medical
strategies and tactics, ensuring excellence in standards and
practices, and advancing external collaborations with healthcare
practitioners, research groups, payers, and patient advocacy
groups. It also involves fostering collaboration across global,
regional, and local levels within Takeda.How you will
contribute:
- Provide scientific/clinical expertise and leadership to develop
asset-specific medical strategies and deliverables, including data
generation, analysis, interpretation, publications, medical
training, and congress strategies.
- Develop an understanding of oncology patients' needs and focus
activities to meet those needs.
- Represent Medical Affairs at the Global Product Team (GPT) and
business sub-teams, providing medical insights for clinical
development and brand planning.
- Facilitate cross-regional alignment on medical strategies,
gathering feedback from Local Operating Companies (LOCs).
- Contribute to asset strategy, clinical development programs,
and tactical plans.
- Lead or support Investigator Initiated Studies (IISR)
programs.
- Lead global advisory board meetings, communicating key findings
organization-wide.
- Support publication strategies and execution.
- Guide internal training, congress plans, and symposia.
- Build research relationships with key cancer research
organizations and institutions.
- Establish and maintain interactions with key opinion leaders
and healthcare professionals, developing global KOL engagement
plans.
- Build long-term cross-functional relationships within
Takeda.
- Represent Takeda Oncology at external scientific
engagements.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Focus on patients' interests
- MD, PharmD, or PhD degree
- 7+ years healthcare or related experience post-doctorate
- 5+ years Medical Affairs or industry experience
- 2+ years managing budgets and people
- Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical industry dynamics, especially
in oncology/hematology-oncology preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in complex matrix environments
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict management
skills
- Proven ability to lead teams and influence without
authority
- Experience with regional/country markets and stakeholder
needs
- Budget management experience
- Advanced PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
SharePoint)Travel Requirements: Up to 25% domestic and
