Job Description PG Hotels and Resorts is looking for an experienced Regional Vice President of Operations to lead a team of 8 - 12 hotels. Candidate may be based anywhere in US. Texas or West preferred. The Regional VP of Operations manages through the regional support structure to oversee hotel operations within the assigned Region. Works closely with Regional Directors of Sales and Revenue Management to ensure budgeted revenue goals are achieved. Directly supervises hotel General Managers, providing guidance and direction in all areas including property maintenance, asset protection, guest service, sales, food and beverage, accounting/budgeting, and human resources. Ensures all operations are in alignment with the vision and direction of the Company, brand requirements, and local, state and national regulations. The Regional VP of Operations articulates Company goals and demonstrates commitment to these goals through work ethic, integrity and respect for the Company and its associates. This position interacts with Brand representatives, property owners and other constituents, responding to inquiries and requests accordingly. Works directly with the Companys corporate staff and responds to issues and needs including accounting, capital improvements, human resources, legal and others. Job Requirements: Guest Satisfaction Ensure Company and brand service standards and procedures are followed in hotels throughout the Division. Regularly review guest scores to ensure full compliance with Brand requirements and benchmarks. Identify negative trends at the earliest stages to ensure appropriate strategies are implemented. Through property visits, regularly confirm adherence to all guest service basics such as uniforms, name tags and proper guest greeting. Operations Conduct thorough site visits with documented results, prioritizing travel according to current needs/issues within the Region. Provide direction and support in all operational areas including rooms, food & beverage and engineering. May coordinate hotel acquisitions / dispositions, working closely with appropriate corporate personnel including Asset Management, Legal, Human Resources and Finance. Human Resources Clearly communicate Company standards and expectations to General Managers and property staff. Ensure company policies and procedures are being followed in areas related to employment, discipline and wages. Coach, counsel, resolve conflicts, discipline and terminate as appropriate through fair treatment, generally at the management level. Insist on a work environment that is free from harassment. Develop qualified candidate pool through networking and interviews to minimize vacancies in the General Manager position. Train new General Managers to ensure successful orientation and understanding of Company expectations. Conduct performance reviews and recommend salary increases within Company guidelines for General Managers. Approve new hires, promotions, wage increases, bonus and incentive plans. Sales/Revenue Management Articulate the sales vision and strategy to achieve top line revenue goals. Work with sales teams and develop action steps to improve REVPAR performance. Participate in sales calls and other client communications when necessary and where appropriate. Work in conjunction with the sales and revenue teams on sales goal approval, sales deployment, market strategy, etc. Profitability Responsible for GOP performance, flex and flow through. Monitor financials to ensure expenses and payroll costs are within budgeted guidelines. Ensure all accounting policies and procedures are being followed and the hotel is in compliance. Investigate and oversee implementations of new and improved services to capture more guests and a larger share of the local market. Maintain a working knowledge of relevant trends and best practices in business management and finance, so business opportunities can be identified and capitalized on in the continually changing economic and business environment. Submit recommendations for changes and improvements to superiors. Financials / Reporting Lead regional team in month end report preparation, submitting accurate, thorough and timely reports to the Vice President Hospitality Finance. Actively participate in property financial reviews, identifying and responding to critical need areas and trends. Ensure forecasting accuracy top and bottom line, monitoring results regularly to identify and deter potential variances. Direct hotel budgeting process, in conjunction with company guidelines and directives. Provide current and accurate information to VP Hospitality Finance and ownership as requested. Life Safety/Risk Management Ensure hotel compliance with all life safety requirements, regulations, policies, practices and activities. Promote culture of workplace safety and accident prevention to minimize liabilities and related expenses. Work collaboratively with Corporate Risk Management to oversee appropriate sanitary, safety, security and emergency policies and procedures are in place and followed. Make recommendations to superiors on additional safeguards as appropriate. Asset Management Oversee capital planning and strategies at each property. Monitor property preventative maintenance and repairs to protect guests, associates and assets. Work collaboratively with the Corporate Office to ensure Company assets are accurately tracked and protected. Submit to superiors recommendations on changes and improvements. Leadership Provide direction in all facets of the operation in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Company, management contract, franchise agreement, and local, state and national regulations. Develop, coordinate and direct activities that foster effective business relations with brand management, local government officials, law enforcement and emergency services. Keep abreast of brand standards and the competition's products and strengths to continually improve revenues and profit margins while maintaining quality. Use business/management knowledge, applications in the industry, and experiences to provide leadership, both internally and externally, to position the hotel as a market leader. Be a coach with a positive attitude on a daily basis. Ensure optimal levels of quality service and hospitality are provided to guests. Regular and timely attendance with high standards of personal behavior, appearance and grooming. Communication Ensure regular, accurate and open communication with Sr VP of Operations in all matters. Ensure all communication containing Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations. Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates. Maintain effective two-way communications that crosses departmental lines and reaches all levels of associates. Approach all encounters and actions with guests and associates in a friendly, service oriented manner. Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with hotel management and associates to provide organizational information and educate associates on changes and activities. Communicate hotel activities and plans with superiors and obtain appropriate consultation, guidance and approval. Administration Oversee the compilation and analyze various corporate reports and property reports to provide management with accurate information and to comply with corporate policies and procedures as well as government laws and regulations. Complete all required and requested reporting in a timely and accurate manner. Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task forces and committees as requested. Qualifications: A college degree preferably in hotel management. At least ten years hotel General Manager experience and three years Regional experience with hotels of significant size, caliber, Brand and quality. Recognition within the hospitality industry as a person with integrity and ethical grounding.
