POSITION TITLE:--Associate Director of Student Success Center
(TEMPORARY, up to one year, with an option for a concurrent
one-year extension) - INTERNAL POSTING REPORTS TO:--Vice President
of Student Services & Enrollment Management or designee STATEMENT
OF DUTIES:--The Associate Director is responsible for the initial
launch and daily operations of the Student Success Center. The
Associate Director will facilitate the hiring, onboarding, and
training of the Center's staff, with a strong focus on customer
service and a holistic approach to student support. The Associate
Director will also develop standard operating procedures and
desired outcomes for the Center, in conjunction with various
departments across the college, and will educate the Bristol
community about the Center's mission and function. Once launched,
the Associate Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations
and oversight of the Center, including staff supervision, caseload
assignments, coordination of outreach efforts, and assessment of
the Center's efforts and goals, among other duties. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the overall day-to-day administrative functions of the
- Promote the mission of the Student Success Center through a
student-centered, holistic approach to enrollment and retention
that enhances the proactive advising model through individualized
support and mentoring of at-risk students.
- Utilize relevant theories to empower students in their
development of self-advocacy and interpersonal communication
- --Hire, supervise, develop, and lead Center staff. Conduct
regular performance evaluations to ensure continuous improvement
and identify potential opportunities for growth. Work closely with
Human Resources to develop staff capabilities and
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that supports
the professional growth of staff while fostering a commitment to
- Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related
best practices throughout all job functions and work
collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for the
Center, in conjunction with other key departments such as, but not
limited to, Admissions, Enrollment, Financial Aid, Advising,
Testing, and Disability Support Services, with a focus on
- Publish and maintain a comprehensive guide of internal and
external community resources that can be used to support
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, cross-departmental
training program for the Center's staff, with a focus on
operational efficiency and customer service.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Marketing &
Communications, to actively promote the Student Success Center and
increase awareness of its mission and purpose.
- Use Bristol's digital communication tools, to include but not
limited to; Bristol email, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other Bristol
social media tools, to advance the college's social media outreach
and brand to internal and external constituents.
- Coordinate a staffing scheduling for the Center, including
evening and weekend hours; assign caseloads to Center staff based
on predetermined criteria and established ratios.
- Identify and monitor key data and reports to identify trends
and inform a targeted approach to outreach efforts; distribute
lists and relevant communication materials to Center staff to
support their work.
- Establish metrics and benchmarks to assess the Center's
effectiveness; use this data to provide regular reports to
administration and to inform retention strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments on campus, including but not
limited to Enrollment Management and Academic Affairs, to develop
effective strategies for identifying and supporting at-risk
students; serve as a liaison between the Student Success Center and
other departments across the college.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:-- NOTE: Unless
otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of
- Minimum of a Master's degree in Education, Counseling,
Psychology, Social Work, Education Administration, or other related
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in admissions,
advising, counseling, enrollment services, or a related field
within a collegiate environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.--
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the goals and
values of a community college.
- Reliable transportation in order to travel to and from
meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as

faculty, and staff. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience supervising a team of
professionals in a higher education environment.
- Robust understanding and demonstrated inclusion of access,
equity and student success practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of student development
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting educational
opportunity for diverse ethnic, social, and economic populations
and in an urban campus environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Banner and Argos.
- Supervisory experience of a diverse staff in a unionized
- Demonstrated experience working in a multi-campus
- Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:--The employee must meet the
physical demands and work environment of the position. Reasonable

is a temporary up-to-one year, full-time, non-unit position with
benefits. The standard work schedule for this position is: Monday
through Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm, with some evening and weekend
availability during peak times. This position may be reevaluated
after one year for future considerations, with option for a
one-year extension or full-time, regular employment. SALARY: Hiring
salary $60,000-70,000, commensurate with education and
