Calibration and Instrumentation Technician II Location: Bedford, NH
Department: Engineering Reporting To: Calibration& Instrumentation,
Sr. Manager Responsible For (Staff): Yes The Calibration and
Instrumentation Technician II is responsible for ensuring that
calibration of all critical instrumentation is performed according
to the schedule and approved SOPs at multiple PCI facilities. The
Calibration and Instrumentation Technician II performs precise
calibrations, preventative and corrective maintenance on measuring
and test equipment, instruments, tools, gauges and fixtures. They
also set up test equipment and conduct tests on performance and
reliability of mechanical, structural, or electromechanical
equipment. Must have in-depth, detailed knowledge of the metrology,
mathematics, and applicable technical disciplines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works safely within the PCI safety policies
and other safety procedures. Maintains and establishes the
calibration schedule electronically using BMRAM. Ensures timely
calibrations per the Calibration Schedule (able to prioritize
multiple tasks under tight deadlines). Tests instrument accuracy
and makes adjustments, as necessary. Selects and procures
instrument spare parts to minimize equipment downtime. Trains other
calibration technicians and ensures proper training of calibration
technicians. Creates and revises calibration procedures/work
instructions. Troubleshoots calibrated equipment/instruments as
required to support day-to-day operations. Supports new/modified
equipment and continuous improvement projects. Liaise with
suppliers for calibration services, etc. Maintains Calibration
Database(s) and perform field Calibrations, testing,
troubleshooting and repairs across all facilities (pressure,
temperature, speed, time). Coordinates with Metrology Contractors
and Vendors to ensure calibration of all critical instrumentation
is performed according to the schedule and approved SOPs.
Coordinates with Operations in developing calibration schedule.
Reviews calibration certificates and Maintain calibration
standards. Tags all new equipment/instrumentation and assign
inventory numbers. Recommends improvements on procedures and
implements changes. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: ?AAS degree in
electrical, electronics, instrumentation or industrial technology
with at least 2 years of experience working with instrumentation
and calibrations in a GxP environment OR HS diploma with 2 - 5
years of experience working with instrumentation and calibrations
in a GxP environment or military training. Minimum of 3 yrs. of
instrumentation/calibration experience a plus. Calibration
experience including knowledge of ISO and demonstrated ability to
use/calibrate/troubleshoot commonly used equipment/instruments in
manufacturing processes and utilities. Previous experience with a
wide variety of instrumentation and equipment in a manufacturing,
medical or laboratory environment desired. Blue Mountain
Calibration or other RAM experience a plus. Requires 2- 3 years
related experience in a regulatory environment. Must possess a
valid driver’s license which does not contain restrictions
preventing personnel from lawfully performing his/her assigned
duties. Preferred: ?Good organizational skills and high attention
to details including following good manufacturing practices
(cGMPs). Detail oriented in the execution of job duties as well as
in all work-related documentation. Must be a team player, be
organized, self-motivated and able to prioritize work duties. Will
work with Materials, Operations, Facilities, Engineering, MTS,
Quality Control and Quality Assurance at all PCI locations.
