The Quality Engineer will have ownership for understanding and implementing all market (AS-9100 / IATF-16949) and customer quality requirements within their given team and may be called upon to support other teams within the site as well.
This position will develop the inspection processes needed (both digital and manual) to ensure 100% compliance with all customer drawings and other specifications. In addition, this position will participate in the site WCM Pillar Team for Quality and Process Control and support any WCM projects conducted related to quality.
The Quality Engineer will work in concert with the rest of the team towards 100% customer satisfaction by implementing effective quality methods and processes. These teams could include customer-focuses in the Aerospace or Automotive markets.
Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and implement quality improvements based on facility, customer, and AS-9100 requirements.
  • Train Personnel in the use of "quality tools" (i.e. SPC, FMEA, TS & Control Plans)
  • Utilize various department equipment in assessing the quality level of products and processes.
  • Act on Material Review Board (MRB) related to bearing products or as directed.
  • Develop and maintain electronic information databases to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Recommend project initiation or equipment purchase necessary to meet department and facility objectives.
  • Communicate and cooperate with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency, and safety.
  • Participate in self-development and training of others.
  • Direct, monitor, and evaluate activities of supervised Quality Technician(s)/Inspector(s), if applicable.
  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed by the manager.
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in a Technical Degree required. Mechanical, Materials Engineer, or Industrial Engineer preferred
    • 2+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer
    • Knowledge of AS-9100 IATF-16949, APQP required
    • Experience in developing and compiling PPAP submission information
    • Statistical Process Control- ability to interpret data and train/coach others in use
    • Computer (PC), data collection, and analysis skills necessary to fulfill job responsibilities
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    • ISO-9001/AS-9100 QMS knowledge and experience preferred
