Job Description:

Working under the direction of the Application Engineer - Senior Team Lead 3, will be responsible for supporting sales

of technical engineering products to university customers; designing and developing sophisticated software product

models and simulations to demonstrate MathWorks product capabilities to students, teachers and researchers;

developing technical engineering demonstrations of MathWorks modeling, simulation and analysis software to support

the companys academic industry marketing activities; meeting with customers to understand technical and business

challenges and explaining how MathWorks can help address those challenges in education and research; presenting to

customers on computational thinking, coding to learn, and the use of MathWorks products in industry to benefit the

teaching and learning of MATLAB skills; demonstrating the value of MATLAB and Simulink in course curriculum,

research and commercial projects; influencing academic leaders to incorporate computational literacy in their

curriculum; identifying, influencing, and tracking adoption of MathWorks products in relevant Engineering, Science and

Business courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; identifying key research projects and groups that can

benefit from the adoption of MathWorks products, engaging these groups to understand their goals and challenges,

and leveraging product knowledge and industry experience to recommend MathWorks solutions; developing Technical

Engagement Plans and activities to increase adoption of MathWorks products based on key metrics; executing

Technical Engagement Plans by engaging customers to advocate and support deeper adoption and usage of

MathWorks products in all aspects of a university, including in curriculum and coursework, in research and commercial

projects, and in high-impact student activities of competitions and projects; preparing and delivering presentations,

demonstrations, and application examples; and advocating on behalf of customers to influence the future of

MathWorks products. Requires frequent travel and on short notice.

Education and Experience:

Masters degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science and one (1) year of

experience in job offered or one (1) year of experience in technical customer support of mathematical simulation

software.

Special Requirements:

Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB, Simulink, and Python.

Demonstrated expertise developing customer support demonstrations of MATLAB and Simulink-based modeling

systems; and creating MATLAB and Simulink demonstration materials and program specifications for use in academia.

Demonstrated expertise delivering technical engineering concepts including MATLAB and Simulink-based training

curriculum for students, faculty, and researchers in university environments.

Demonstrated expertise analyzing data to support data-driven decision making for technical engagements.
