Development Team. As an intern supporting our National Heart Walk
Teams, you will play a key role in driving campaign success with
some of our nation’s largest employers. Your responsibilities will
include a variety of tasks that contribute to the planning and
execution of their 2025-2026 Corporate Fundraising Campaigns. You
will gain experience working with a group of dynamic leaders and
impact efforts that engage thousands of volunteers and raise $1M
this year. The American Heart Association’s Internship Program
provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in
various facets for individuals interested in gaining work
experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization. The

per week Internship Duration: 9/8/25 – 12/5/25 Location: Remote
Position – Intern based in NYC, DC, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh,
Boston or Nashville. This role follows Eastern Time Zone hours.
Salary: $23.00 per hour Internship Outcomes Individuals
participating in the internship program are provided with an

Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional
resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a
difference in the lives of others. Responsibilities Campaign
Planning & Support: Assist with the planning, coordinating, and
executing kick-off events, rally calls and Heart Walk participation
at sites across the country. Create Company Tool Kits,
communications templates and other resources to drive company
fundraising success. Support Heart Walk custom website builds and
volunteer website trainings Event Participant Outreach &
Engagement: Conduct outreach to past and current participants to
engage them in different aspects of the Heart Walk campaigns
Coordinate Teams Meetings for Company-wide Volunteer Trainings and
Celebrations. Create and distribute Thank You communications and
Impact Reports for Companies at the end of the Fall Season. Data &
Reporting: Assist with pulling reports, data entry, and organizing
event-related information to track progress and outcomes.
Hands-Only CPR Events: Support the planning and execution of
Hands-Only CPR demonstrations. Assist with press release writing
and distribution in support of local event promotion and
disseminating mission/science/evergreen content. Engage survivors
as advocates of the importance in knowing Hands-Only CPR.
Qualifications Candidates who are seniors or graduate students
pursuing a degree in business, communications, public relations,
nonprofit fundraising, or event management. Experience/interest in
volunteer recruitment and management or fundraising. Demonstrated
excellence in written communication skills. Demonstrated skills in
effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with
working professionally with all levels of community leaders,
volunteers, and staff. Proficient in multiple social media
platforms. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
and basic knowledge of Canva. Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi
Connection. Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, occasional weekend
hours may be needed. Must be legally authorized to work in the
United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the
future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be
performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
